Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates and Dance Aerobic Workouts
Supported by McDonald's® in Association with The Mayor's Fitness Council
Millennium Park and McDonald’s invite Chicagoans and visitors to kick off their weekends with energizing workouts on the Great Lawn of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Workouts are open to people with all levels of experience, are 45 minutes long and will be held from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Saturday from June 5 through September 11, 2010.
Each week, instructors from will lead classes in Tai Chi at 7 a.m., Yoga sessions at 8 a.m., Pilates workouts at 9 a.m. and Dance Aerobics at 10 a.m. New this year will be live music during the yoga and Pilates classes, played over Millennium Park’s state-of-the-art sound system.
“The Great Lawn in Millennium Park has become a destination on Saturday mornings for Chicagoans and visitors alike, “said Lois Weisberg, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. “We’re proud to offer these fun, free workouts again for the sixth season and to be doing our part to help Chicago become one of the healthiest cities in the United States.”
Workouts are supported by McDonald’s Corp., who committed $5 million to Millennium Park to provide free fitness activity, as well as the McDonald’s Cycle Center, in 2006. Workouts are presented by Millennium Park in association with The Mayor’s Fitness Council.
